There are some things you learn quickly when you work in international missions and humanitarian aid: no matter what comes up, the work still gets done.
Even when plans shift. Even when the numbers aren’t what you hoped for.
Last December, we wrapped up our annual fundraising campaign with less than we anticipated. Our goal was $5,000. Together, we raised $1,555 — about one-third of what we had hoped for.
And still, the holiday meal went on.
Last week, we received our first glimpse of how it all unfolded — and these photos say more than numbers ever could.

What we see in these images — and what you’ll hear in the videos we’ll be sharing soon — is overwhelming gratitude.
Gratitude from women who now have nourishing food to help their children overcome malnutrition.
From mothers watching their children grow stronger and healthier.
From families who, because of you, experienced not just a meal, but dignity and care.
Of course, the more we raise, the more we can do. But here’s what this season reminded us: no matter the amount, it all adds up. Every gift becomes food on the table. Strength in a once fragile body. Hope where there was once uncertainty.
For every dollar given:
A child no longer has to live with malnutrition.
A young girl moves closer to an education.
A young boy finds a home instead of an unknown future.

We are so grateful for every single gift that made this holiday outreach possible in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Most of all, thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your heart for women and children. You are part of every life and story represented in these photos.
